Why can't they hold her hand
For satisfaction, for relief
Why can't my little brain
Understand the reality
Why can't it get to the truth
That you are not with me....
When I cry out in anguish
When I shiver in the cold
When I panic in pain....
The pain of losing you
Where have you gone... Mother
Putting me in the nature's hands
Those hands I cannot feel
Those hands that I cannot even see
Why did you forget mother
That the only thing I know
And the only thing I understand
And the only one I love... is you
Oh Mother! I know now
I am brave, I am strong....
I feel your presence in myself
I feel your love in my heart
I promise to myself today
I'll come one day
When I grow up into a beautiful girl
To see you... to see us
Somewhere amidst your hard life
Somewhere in your messed up past
Somewhere I now it does lie
The eternal love you have for me....
(For hundreds of children who are being abandoned everyday by their loved ones and for the mothers who abandon their children driven by circumstances)
